Blue SCSI v2

$37.00

The BlueSCSI v2 is a modern, open-source SCSI hard drive emulator designed for use with vintage computers and workstations that rely on SCSI storage devices. You can buy an external kit with a 25-pin connector or an internal kit with a 50-pin IDC connector. My first batch came in as a GREEN PCB by mistake, but future PCBs will be blue. The color doesn’t affect the performance of this great project! 😁

Kit Assembly Instructions

The BlueSCSI v2 is a modern, open-source SCSI hard drive emulator designed for use with vintage computers and workstations that rely on SCSI storage devices. Compact and affordable, it uses a microcontroller (typically a Raspberry Pi Pico or similar) to emulate SCSI devices via a microSD card, allowing users to replace aging or failed SCSI hard drives with solid-state storage. BlueSCSI v2 offers improved performance and compatibility over the original version, while maintaining ease of use and broad support for Macintosh, Amiga, and other legacy systems.

The desktop version is designed to fit internally in the same footprint as a 3.5 inch spinning SCSI hard drive and connects with a 50-pin SCSI ribbon cable. The external version is meant to be plugged into a 25-pin SCSI connector usually found on the back of vintage computers. BlueSCSI supports Fast SCSI up to UltraSCSI FAST20 (up to 18MB/sec synchronous) with overclock.
