Now Selling The RGBtoHDMI Adaptor!

Update: The main CPLD board sells out quickly. If it is sold out, sign up on the store page to be updated when it is back in stock.

I have been working with the developers of the RGBtoHDMI project and I an happy to announce that you can now purchase the RGBtoHDMI adaptors and accessories right here on my site! This means that there are now two people producing this product officially and it means that international shipping charges can be avoided if you live in the United States.

I will be ordering small batches of boards as the design is still changing occasionally and I want people to get the most updated version. This means that I may run out frequently, but you can backorder your board which will help me estimate how many I should order at a time.

I am currently offering the following:

  • The main RGBtoHDMI board that attaches to a Raspberry Pi Zero (not included) – $45
  • The analog board adaptor for YUV support – $35
  • A cable bundle with a premade cable for PC (MDA/CGA/EGA) output – $10
  • A case with holes drilled out for the buttons and a cut-out to pass the cable though – $10

Before shipment, the CPLD on the RGBtoHDMI adaptor will be preloaded with the latest firmware and tested on a standard PC with EGA output. The analog board will be tested on a TRS-80 Color Computer 1/2.

As seen on my YouTube channel and many others, the RGBtoHDMI Video Interface Board converts the RGB/YUV video signals from vintage computers like the IBM PC (MDA/CGA/EGA) or Apple II to HDMI compatible with most modern TVs/Monitors. The board connects to a Raspberry Pi Zero (not included) running custom firmware and is able to correctly sample each of the supported video modes to give a pixel-perfect rendition. The HDMI output is locked to the input so there are no frame drops, repeats or tears and it also has low lag of around 4 milliseconds. See all the systems this board is compatible below.

This product is produced in association with the developers of the RGBtoHDMI project. A portion of the proceeds will be shared with the product developers to help continue development of this wonderful device!
